I am running both the backend setup and frontend from my VNC gnome desktop. Backend: System - Administration - MythTV Backend Setup Frontend: Applications - Sound & Video - MythTV Frontend
Same results. Yes, I did go through the setup again, but I don't know if I am completing the step you are describing. There seem to be two things to do: 1. Scan for channels and 2. Fetch channels from listings source. When I click on the first link, I go to a second screen and the channels are scanned. It finishes in a few seconds, and I can see all the channels listed. When I click on the second link, I can't tell if anything is happening. I just get a message that it might take a long time. I believe I let it go long enough (more than an hour?), but I can't tell if it finishes. There is no indication that anything is finished. Anyways, I have followed your instruction to leave the input groups to 'generic'. Again, when I finish, I run the mythfilldatabase as prompted. When I run the frontend, no video...
I attempted to make a recording via the Mythweb interface. I can see all the channels, lineups, etc. When I attempt to make a recording, I always end up with a 1.6 kb file, but I never get an entire recording. When I look in the /var/lib/mythtv/recordings folder, I can see .nuv files being created, but they are all 1.6 kb in size. So it looks like it is trying to do something, but it's not quite there...
Ah, ok. Well, sounds like you don't have just the one problem then!
Let's check your tuner is working properly. Download and install TVTuner and see whether you can watch TV. If you can then we have one less issue to solve
Are you using ubuntu or mythbuntu? what version are you using?
thanks
Pete.
