A Very Noob Noobs Question on FlexRAID

Avening All,

I've been looking at implementing a home server like this for some time, but all the info was spread so far a wide so a big thank you for producing something I can understand. Its been fun learning so far, however I have now run into a problem which I hope is me being a little dim.

I've created the FlexRAID pool using (from Webmin):
/media/Data1 Linux Native Filesystem (ext3) SATA device C partition 1
/media/Data2 Linux Native Filesystem (ext3) SATA device D partition 1
/media/PPU Linux Native Filesystem (ext3) SATA device B partition 1

Having started storage pool I now have a mount point (/root/FlexRAID_POOL)

If I set these to "auto mount" on server restart the disks appear as missing from the pool in flexRAID. If I stop doing this then they remain in the pool and I get the following mount points:
.. class1_0/{-dev-sdb1} Linux Native Filesystem (ext3) SATA device B partition 1
... class1_0/{-dev-sdc1} Linux Native Filesystem (ext3) SATA device C partition 1
... class1_0/{-dev-sdd1} Linux Native Filesystem (ext3) SATA device D partition 1

which I assume are the mount points for mount of the FlexRAID pool.

I also have the following mount points:
/root/FlexRAID_POOL FUSE.FLEXRAIDFS FlexRAIDFS
... export/FlexRAID_POOL Loopback Filesystem (bind) /FlexRAID_POOL (I think I created this one, when trying to mount storage pool mount point)

The question is, how do I go about getting access to this disk. I can't create a share from within FlexRAID as the button is always greyed out and I can't seem to mount the folder within Ubuntu

I've also tried setting up /FlexRAID_POOL as a share within SAMBA, however when I try to access this through windows, I can see it but cannot alter in any way.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Marc,

I'm afraid I've not tried using the storage pool in FlexRAID so I can't give you any tips. Have you tried asking on http://forum.flexraid.com ?

That's the FlexRAID author's forum so the man himself or someone else there should be able to help. Unless of course someone here can jump in and save the day.
