flexraid -- no drives

Post by pro2oman »

hello, i followed you guide to set up flex raid, got that working no problems as well as the start up script but my problem occurs when trying to set up a raid.
when i try to add a drive to the raid, the only options I'm given are /boot..
i don't see my other drives and I'm not given access to root (/) so i could just add the mount points.
all my drives are added in my fstab with uuids

if anyone has any advice as to what i should do it would be greatly appreciated.

side note: how do i password protect the web interface? it open to everyone by defult?

Hello there and welcome to the forums.

When you select Add new configuration from the FlexRAID UI are you selecting Cruise Control mode or Expert Mode? And what type of config are you creating Snapshot, Real-Time or Storage Pool Only? Try using Export Mode if you're not using that mode already and it should allow you to manually select the number of DRUs: and PPUs:. Once you click the Create button you should then see your drive mounts and you can select the required DRUs and PPUs from there.

Does the above help at all?

i was already using expert mode and I'm trying a snapshot raid (t1+)
i do get the drive menu but the only drive available is /boot
and that gets me nowhere, my other 4 drives don't show up nor do i have root so i could browse to the mount point.

Hmm, I'm a bit stumped them I'm afraid. Have you tried asking over on the flexraid forum? The developer hangs out there so may know how to get you over this hurdle.

Sorry I can't think of a solution
