vnc viewer

I'm building a server, now I'm trying to get vnc viewer to work but I keep getting an error saying connection not established. I don't know what I could be doing wrong. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on my server and 13.04 on my desktop. What's funny is I can establish a connection with ssh on port 22 but not in the vnc, crazy.

Hi mate,
I had the same message
In the remote Desktop viewer you need to specify:
1. Protocol = VNC
2. Host =
IP:5901
Until I specified Host in this manner, I could not connect to VNC either. My server IP is 192.168.10.108, so the host field looks like:
192.168.10.108:5901
