I first heard about this project a couple of weeks ago
http://www.raspberrypi.org/It looks very interesting as I am hopeful the board could be used as the base for a media player as it has all the correct ports.
Not sure what software could be used for this purpose, something Linux based or maybe more of a firmware/dashboard something similar to X360, PS3 or XBMC.
And best of all the Raspberry Pi has been developed in the UK.
When the board goes on sale it will about $35 or £21-£22 depending on exchange rates.

Looks interesting, never heard of them before. I'll have to get my thinking cap on as to what it could be used for.
Thanks for sharing
Ian.

From what I can make out these should be able to run XBMC-Live, not sure with them only having 256MB of RAM, although I guess that could be doubled with the use of a swap file.
I may take a punt on one when they are released.

My favourite is the twitter comment that someone should bid £3141.59 for it.

I really can't wait to get my hands on a Raspi, it has been said that they are to produce cases for the Raspi.

Raspi's are now in production, the first batch should be with us soon.
XBMC running on the Pi

Yeah, that's definatly a thread I need to keep an eye on.
A Raspberry Pi, a media remote and we are good to go.
Not forgetting "there's an app for that" iOS and 'Droid, use your phone or tablet as the remote.
