I've been reading your excellent guide - many thanks.
I have one question though. I want to use drive pooling on my four data drives (either mhddfs or Greyhole). Do I need to tell SnapRAID to protect the created virtual volume or just the four data drives as in your guide?
Many thanks and keep up the good work.

Re: SnapRAID
Hi FieldDoc and welcome to the forums
That's a good question, I've never thought about that before. I would guess that if you told SnapRAID to protect the virtual drive then in effect you'd be mirroring that pooled drive, so RAID 1. You would therefore need the same amount of space again. So 4x the data drives for parity.
I would protect the underlying drives and ignore the fact that they happen to be pooled into one big drive. So, tell SnapRAID about each of them individually.
Ian.

Thanks Ian.
