A Bit more help with MediaTomb

Current ability= sub noob, type slow when responding. 
I followed the guide and installed mediatomb, that went well, I can find it on all my devices. I need to make adjustments to the config file however. My problem lies with the config file being placed in the root and I can't seem to get access to configure it. I have reviewed section 4.2 on the Mediatomb page. I am not clear whether it was compiled via sqlite or MySQL. The directions given are not quite clear to me. But lets cut to the chase, could someone assist with getting me into the MediaTomb Config.xml for editing?
