Post by naknak56 »

Hi thanks for the excellent guide!
Everything seems to be working fine except NFS :(, after much struggling I have my drives mounted and can see them from windows, but when I have tried to copy files to it, I get the error message " you need permission to perform this action. " I have followed the guide and read only is set to no and remote users is set to everyone except root. I cant thing what I've done wrong :( does anyone have any idea how I can change this so I can access and write to this disc?

This has happened to me as well. (that is if you are using samba server, not NFS) I am pretty sure your problem lies with the owner/permissions of the directories you are sharing on the server. The owner of the shared directory needs to be the samba user you created when setting up samba. You can view/modify the owner/permissions from Webmin File manager (Other->File Manager) Select the share folder and press the info button. You can then change the owner/group and permissions from there
