Re: INstalling Flexget
I have the same problem as originally reported, but the "fix" doesn't work. Complains... Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/pip", line 9, in <module> load_entry_point('pip==1.5.4', 'console_scripts', 'pip')() File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pkg_re...

snapRAID Funny
Have been tinkering recently, rewriting scripts to be more "bullet-proof" and come up with some strange behaviour from snapRAID that could cause problems when using the script you suggest. 1. Run a snapRAID diff when there are lots of files to update: shows all the changes. 2. Run snapRAID...

Re: More Quesions: Scripts
1. That's an interesting thought. If the system has stayed up (if hot) for the period since the last check, I guess the chances of it staying up long enough to send the eMail are probably good, and you're down to a (hopefully rarely used) software procedure getting stuck. It's a shame the finest gra...

More Quesions: Scripts
I've been revisiting the various scripts (shut down, SnapRAID) and have a few questions: again, no doubt the answers are obvious to experienced Linux/Ubuntu veterans, but not to this newby... 1. When shutting down because the temperature is too high, your script issues the shutdown request /sbin/shu...

Re: Virtual Machines
Ah. Perhaps I won't go down the Media Server in a VM route after all, particularly given the problems I've had trying to get it all to work! Once the basic files access/Logitech Media Server is back up running, the stuff I have planned initially isn't going to cause too many issues, I guess! Still, ...

Re: Download Speeds
Hmmm... seem to have found the answer: do anything that involves accessing the repository during the weekend. Did a new install from scratch and the speeds now appear reasonably acceptable, without messing about changing the sources file. Onwards... !!!

Virtual Machines
Have been experimenting tinkering a bit with VMs, and would appreciate some minor clarification over partitioning the functionality. Have three hard drives: Host OS on one small-ish one, two * 2GB drives on which I store (mainly) music files for Logitech Music Player. I did have the two big drives R...
