OK so I have determined I can't use v10 w/o moving grub after the install which I am not comfortable enough to do. So, I decided to install 11.10 which I found out I guess broke VNC... fantastic! Android no doubt. I don't get how people can use such a restricted system like iOS... and then every time you do something they can't do it's Oh well we don't need to do that! OMG drives me mad! I have a SGSII myself, love it.

Hi there and welcome to the forums I'm a bit puzzled, it should work fine without a CD drive installed. Obviously as long as you've installed Ubuntu on your hard drive. If you go into the BIOS is the hard drive recognised and set as a bootable drive? Normally the default boot order in the BIOS is C...
