Recommendations for set top/media device
What set top/media devices do you guys recommend? I'm looking for something that will stream Netflix as well as handle any video codec I throw at it. I'm currently using the WDTV LIVE HD (couple of years old) It has trouble handling mkvs & movs. I'm currently running PS3 Media Server/ubuntu 10.0...

Re: Tight vnc problem
I ended up using x11vnc instead with 11.04 and it worked for me.

Re: cloning virtual machine from one Ubuntu KVM to second se
Couldn't you clone the VM instance copy to the new machine, and then change the mac address of the clone?
I'm using VMWare but that is basically the steps I've taken.

Re: Huge mediatomb.log file
No, I haven't checked out PS3 Media Server thoroughly yet. I'll give it another look. Twonky for Linux feels like a mediocre offering and a placeholder from Twonky. I run WDTV Llive HD as my media box in my living room and it seems like it needs transcoding help playing some file formats I created (...

Re: Chromium magnet files to Deluge?
Here's what I do:
You can usually right click on the magnet file icon and open in another tab in Chromium. Then I copy that URL and add it to Deluge via the add URL option.
It is clunky but it works for me. I haven't dove in to figure out how to make Chromium automatically launch Deluge.

Re: Huge mediatomb.log file
What do you use as a upnp media server nowadays? In the meantime I logged the bug with the Ubuntu group and check the mediatomb wiki. Apparently there hasn't been any development for the mediatomb server for quite awhile. It looks like the team is currently swamped with "real job" stuff an...

Huge mediatomb.log file
First let me start off by say how much I love the site. I've built my linux media/torrent server and love it. Thank you for taking the time Ian to document your hard work. I recently ran into an issue where Mediatomb is creating this insanely large log file that is taking up my entire hard disk part...

Re: Xstartup file is empty
I will. Looks promising.
Been awhile since I was on Linux. Dapper Drake was the last time I played with it, and back then everything was through KDE interface. But I like what I've seen so far with 10.01 server.
