Re: Backup the Linux OS
Hi Guys, I first wanted to thank you for making such a useful website. I recently built and set up my own Linux home server and couldn't have done it without this site. Now that it is all up and running how I want it to, I am curious to know what is the best way to back it up. I have two desktops a...

Re: How to verify my drive is "spinning down"
In-case anyone is following this thread. I just checked my drives, mine are in stand by mode even after firing up Win7.
So mapped network drives on Windows 7 will not keep a drive spinning.

Re: How to verify my drive is "spinning down"
Hi fpp, It's possible one of your windows clients is waking up the drive(s). As a test either remove the network cable from your server and see whether the problem goes away and/or unmap the drive(s) from all your windows clients. If you access your server in Windows Explorer using My Network Place...

Re: Webmin issues
Normally Webmin will set itself up to run at boot. I've seen it "turn itself off" once, after applying updates (through the Web UI, not apt-get). It was still there but didn't start at boot time. One way to check it to run it manually, then access the Web UI : in the "Webmin" me...

webmin must reload after reboot
Hey guys,
Thanks for such a great walk through. Still very much a noob here. First post here. Got one question.
As the subject says every time I reboot the server I have to reinstall Webmin. Is this normal or did I miss a step somewhere.
Running Ubuntu 10.04
Thanks in advance.
