Re: Tagging guide added to website
In a different thread, I asked something that may be related to this. I am trying to set up a full movie experience simular to Boxee, but have had issues trying to install Boxee on my system. Will these meta-tags work with Boxee in Windows? Also, is there a media player that will use these tags that...

Re: Great guide
I will second the Great guide part.
I will also second the more in depth LVM. I have started playing with them, but they are difficult to get a grip on.

Re: The "introduce yourself" thread
Hello, I am John and work in Taiwan at AsusTek (I am American though). I actually read this over a year ago, and studied up on how to make own make my server. Well, I just upgraded my old system so figured I would use the spare parts to make my own server. Currently I have a P5Q-Pro Motherboard a 2....

Video organizer/tagger/streamer
Hello, I have set up my server, and notice in software, it has MythTV, which seems more aimed at a TV card. I live in Taiwan, but am American, so for me, the TV here is horrible... The way I have made my adjustment to this is by finding a good torrent site and downloading the TV shows and movies I l...

Re: Should I install Ubuntu 11.04?
I actually installed with the 11.04. The one thing I am getting lost on is why my VCN is closing my windows, or at least minimizing, when I use the d key on my keyboard... I notice Ian mentioned this earlier, and wondering how to work around this issue, because it is really annoying trying to type i...

Re: Wi-Fi card on server
Well, I was able to download the drivers through the manufacturers website, since mine was not on that support forum. The file I got was EW-7711IN_2010_07_16_RT3062_Linux_STA_v2[1].4.0.0.tar.bz2 I tried reading through the instruction manual, and got a little confused. I added .rtf extension to the ...

Wi-Fi card on server
Ok, first I guess I will give the basic setup information. My VDSL and router is located in my bedroom, but because of the heat, I do not want to install the server in my bedroom. I bought a Wi-Fi card for my ubuntu server, but obviously, since ubuntu is not a plug and play OS, I do not see it on my...

Synaptic package manager password
I ran across something odd, and am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue.
When I try to start my synaptic package manager in VNC, it asks for my password.
Ok, I know my password, I insert it, and I get an error saying incorrect password.
Any idea what my problem may be?
