I finally got it working and without the certificate. Ended up having to change the hostname and then reboot did trick.

On my machine the director path does not exist and I do not have a file ca-bundle.crt. How did you get the certificate and did you have to create the directory path?...

VNC Problem
When I execute VNC on my laptop I do not get the error message mentioned in your write up regarding the panel loading and I do not get the panel with the Applications, Places, and System options. I have tried reinstalling vncserver, TightVNC and reloading the gnome.

THe suthentication was the trick. I tried a couple of things so I am not sure which fixed it but here is the story. I did add usr name and password for the share on the EVA and then in SAMBA I set Guest to YES under Security and Access Control. Now I can move on to why it does not see my DVD .iso fi...

Under the network test it does say NA for the server share. When I say the EVA can seee the shares I mean that when I execute the Advanced Settings->Servers and Shared Folders->Build Network Shares List the EVA will find and report my Media Server Share.
